Happy New Year TUMC Family!

I am very excited to return to worship, to return to our fellowship, and to return to service for and with our church family at TUMC. My maternity has been a time to heal, a time not to sleep, a time to love and learn from my newest teacher, Joshua, and a time to look forward to our next season of ministry together.

I look forward to each of you meeting Joshua. He will spend two Sundays a month with me and the other two with Andrew—the life of a double PK (pastor’s kid). He is quite adorable, if I do say so myself.

Please mark your calendars for our annual State of the Church Report on February 4, 2018 to hear updates on our Capital Improvement Projects and the next leadership steps we will make as a church family.

You have each been in my prayers and you remain there. See you soon, dear friends!

Sweet Blessings,

Sarah

Leader: Rev. Ann Hutchens, Emeritus Member, National Association of Senior Move Managers

The Class will address how disorganization affects us spiritually, financially and in our relationships with others. The focus will be on ways to organize, providing resources, tips, and hands-on experiences.

There is no charge for the class. It is open to the public.

Ann taught classes in this topic to hundreds of people during the ten years she led her former Senior Move Management Company.

Nursery Thank You

Thanks to all who have made donations to the Nursery. We’re on the way to finish equipping the Baby Area and the area Toddlers through Three’s use in experiencing the steadfast love of Christ Jesus.

Red Bag For Schools Collection

The TUMC Family will continue to partner with our friends at Tuskawilla Shepherds in collecting items for the Red Bag for Schools program. Please return donations to the red bins in the Family Room.

Seeking Sunday Morning Greeters and Communion Servers

Hospitality is one of the greatest gifts we have to offer our church family and our community as they join us in weekly worship. We are seeking persons interested in sharing the gift of hospitality through Greeting on Sunday mornings and serving Communion on the First Sundays of each month. For more information or to be added into the Greeter/Server rotation, please contact the Church Office (office@tumcfl.org) or Lila Buchanan.

Communion Steward Ministry

Since the time of the early church, Holy Communion has been brought to the sick and persons unable to be present at congregational worship. This service encourages the congregation’s worship to extend beyond the Dismissal with Blessing until everyone in the congregation’s community of faith has shared together in the holy meal. It is a time when the church goes out and extends God’s love thereby connecting the church and the world.

Do you feel God calling you to be part of this ministry? There is training and support for you to join this team. Please connect with the Church Office (office@tumcfl.org) or with Rev. Bonnie Lattimer.

Do you know a church member who would like to have communion delivered to them? Please connect with the Church Office (office@tumcfl.org) or with Rev. Bonnie Lattimer.

We ask for Communion Visitation Requests to be received by the Monday prior to visit on Communion Sunday so the necessary assignments can be made.

Seeking Servants for TUMC’s Congregational Care Team

One of the ways TUMC is seeking to grow, support, and care for our congregation is through our caregiving ministry. If you are interested in being a member of the congregational care team, you are invited to connect with the Church Office (office@tumcfl.org) or with Rev. Bonnie Lattimer.

Willa Kids and Gravity Youth Volunteers Needed

Willa Kids and Gravity Youth are looking for volunteers to help with Willa Kids and Youth Bible Study on Wednesday nights from 6:00 p.m.–7:30 p.m. If you are interested, please connect with the Church Office (office@tumcfl.org).

Seeking Friends in Faith for Willa Kids, Gravity Youth, and TUMC Young Adults

Pastor Sarah is seeking Friends in Faith pen pals for each of our children, youth, and young adults to exchange letters, share encouragement, and nurture friendships across generations. Please indicate your interest on the Attendance Pad or connect with Pastor Sarah (pastor@tumcfl.org).

The TUMC Library is Available to Use

The TUMC library is available to use in Room 12 during office hours. You can search materials by looking up the category, book title, or author’s name. Please contact the Church Office (office@tumcfl.org) if you have any questions or if you need to access the library after office hours.

Bethel Yoga Classes

Pastor Sarah continues her free all-levels yoga classes meeting Sundays 3:00–4:15 p.m. and Tuesdays 6:00–7:15 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Please bring a yoga mat, towel, notebook, pen, and water bottle to class.
