Worship Leadership Team
(Grades 3-5 Only)
Buddy
Team
(Grades K-5)
Kids want to serve the church, but many times they have to wait until they are
in middle school before the opportunities open up. We feel that by providing
opportunities for involvement NOW, children will be prepared to serve once they
move on to youth group and ultimately into adult service.
Kids wanting to serve on the W.L.T. (Worship Leadership Team) have the
opportunity to learn and operate the audio/visual equipment; serve as ushers;
collect, count, and report the offering; serve as liturgists (reading the
announcements and scripture); and lead prayer – The Lord’s Prayer and The
Apostles’ Creed. By serving on this team, children begin to understand the
importance of responsibility and setting an example of
Christian Service.
Kids wishing to be Buddies are those children in grades K-5, who want to be a
helping hand and welcoming friend to both regular attendees and those visiting.
These children are caring and desiring to help others. Buddies will sit with a
child and encourage them to participate in worship, help with activities, and
make sure the friend is comfortable and engaged. Children have the wonderful
ability to reach out to other children in Christian Love and are able to ignore
differences.
If your child would like to serve on the Worship Leadership Team or as a Buddy,
please see Cheryl Whetzel, Worship Coordinator, and she will see that
your child gets plugged in. |
